A leafy, established southwest Durham neighborhood built around Hope Valley Country Club, with winding streets, mature hardwoods and quick access to I-40, Duke and Chapel Hill.
A Brief History
Hope Valley began in 1925–26 as a country-club suburb, and its first parcels sold in 1926. It was laid out around an 18-hole golf course on curving roads (Open Durham; HVNA).
Hope Valley Country Club was founded in 1926 with a Donald Ross–designed course (hvcc.org).
